Jesus

The Son of God and the promised Messiah — the central figure of the New Testament. Born in Bethlehem to Mary by the Holy Spirit, raised in Nazareth. Baptized by John the Baptist. He called twelve apostles, taught in parables and the Sermon on the Mount, healed the sick, raised the dead, and claimed divine authority. He was arrested, tried by Pilate, and crucified. He rose from the dead on the third day, appeared to his followers, and ascended to heaven. His coming fulfills the Old Testament prophecies of a Messiah from the line of David.
