About

A woman from Magdala from whom Jesus cast out seven demons. She became one of his most faithful followers, supporting his ministry out of her own means. She was present at the crucifixion when most of the male disciples had fled, witnessed the burial, and on the first day of the week came to the tomb and discovered it empty. John's Gospel states she was the first person to see the risen Jesus.
