Jezebel

Phoenician princess and queen of Ahab who aggressively promoted the worship of Baal and Asherah and slaughtered the prophets of the Lord. She engineered the murder of Naboth and hunted Elijah. Her violent death — thrown from a window and eaten by dogs — fulfilled Elijah's prophecy; her name became a symbol of wickedness.
