Solomon

Third king of Israel, son of David and Bathsheba. God offered Solomon anything he wished; he chose wisdom and received it along with great wealth and honor. He built the First Temple in Jerusalem, a marvel of the ancient world. He wrote Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon, and composed over a thousand songs. Despite his God-given wisdom, in old age he married 700 wives and 300 concubines whose foreign gods led him into idolatry, dividing the kingdom after his death.
