About

A shepherd and tender of sycamore-fig trees from Tekoa whom God called to prophesy against the prosperous northern kingdom. He thundered against those who 'trample on the heads of the poor' and turn justice to bitterness, calling instead for justice to 'roll on like a river.' His words were quoted at the Jerusalem council in Acts.
