About

Prophet of Judah, a contemporary of Isaiah, who condemned the corruption of rulers, priests, and prophets while foretelling hope. He named Bethlehem as the birthplace of the coming ruler 'whose origins are from of old' — the prophecy the magi were shown in Matthew. He summed up true religion as: 'act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.'
