His Hebrew name was Hananiah, "the LORD is gracious" (Daniel 1:7).
About
One of Daniel's three companions (Hebrew name Hananiah) taken captive to Babylon. With Meshach and Abednego he refused to bow to Nebuchadnezzar's golden image and was thrown into the blazing furnace, where a fourth figure 'like a son of the gods' walked with them in the flames and they emerged unharmed.
