Nicodemus

John
About

A Pharisee and member of the Jewish ruling council who came to Jesus at night. He acknowledged Jesus as a teacher from God but was puzzled when Jesus told him he must be 'born again.' The famous verse John 3:16 occurs in this conversation. He later defended Jesus before the Sanhedrin by asking for due process. After the crucifixion he came to bring a mixture of myrrh and aloes to prepare Jesus' body for burial.
