Miriam

Elder sister of Moses and Aaron. As a young girl she watched over baby Moses in the basket on the Nile. After the crossing of the Red Sea she led the women in singing and dancing with tambourines. She is called a prophetess. She was struck with skin disease after criticizing Moses' marriage, but was healed after Moses prayed for her.
