"the LORD is exalted" · Hebrew
Also written Joram.
King of Judah, the firstborn son of Jehoshaphat, also written Joram. He reigned eight years in Jerusalem. He married a daughter of Ahab, walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and did evil in the sight of the Lord. Chronicles records that he killed all his brothers. Edom and Libnah revolted in his days. A letter from the prophet Elijah warned of a plague on his house and a disease of the bowels. Raiders carried off his household. Chronicles says he died of the disease, unlamented, and was buried in the city of David but not in the tombs of the kings.
