Elizabeth

Wife of the priest Zechariah, from the priestly line of Aaron, and cousin of Mary the mother of Jesus. Described as righteous and blameless, she was barren and advanced in years. She miraculously conceived John the Baptist. When Mary visited her, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and her unborn baby leaped in the womb; she greeted Mary with 'blessed are you among women.'
