About

Prophet and leader in the Jerusalem church who was sent with Paul and Barnabas to Antioch with the decision of the Jerusalem Council. After Paul and Barnabas separated he became Paul's companion on the second missionary journey. Together they were imprisoned in Philippi, sang hymns at midnight, and were miraculously freed when an earthquake opened the prison doors. This led to the conversion of the Philippian jailer.
