About
The wife of Ananias in the church in Jerusalem. She knew that her husband had kept back part of the price of a possession they sold. About three hours after he died she came in, not knowing what had happened. Peter asked whether they had sold the land for a certain sum, and she said yes. He asked how the two had agreed to test the Spirit of the Lord, and said the men who had buried her husband were at the door and would carry her out. She fell down at Peter's feet and died and was buried beside her husband. Great fear came on the whole church.
