About

King of Israel, son of Menahem, who followed his father on the throne and reigned two years in Samaria. He did evil in the sight of the Lord and did not leave the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat. Pekah the son of Remaliah, who served him as a captain, conspired against him. With fifty men of Gilead, Pekah struck him down in the king's house in Samaria and reigned in his place. Kings tells nothing more of what he did and refers the reader to the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
