About

Son of King Saul and one of the most celebrated examples of friendship in Scripture. Despite his father's enmity toward David, Jonathan made a covenant of friendship with David. He defended David before Saul and warned him of threats to his life. He died alongside his father and brothers in the battle of Jezreel, mourned deeply by David.
