About
Born Abram in Ur of the Chaldeans. God called him to leave his homeland and promised to make him the father of a great nation. He obeyed, traveled to Canaan, and God renamed him Abraham meaning 'father of many.' His faith was tested when God asked him to sacrifice Isaac. Known as the 'father of faith' and ancestor of the Hebrew people, Arabs, and — through the New Testament lineage — Jesus.
