About

Prophetess in Jerusalem in the reign of Josiah, wife of Shallum, the keeper of the wardrobe. When the book of the law was found in the house of the Lord and read to the king, Josiah sent the priest Hilkiah and his officials to inquire of the Lord, and they went to her. She confirmed that the disaster written in the book would come on that place and its people, and gave a word for Josiah himself: because his heart was tender and he had humbled himself, he would be gathered to his grave in peace and would not see it. The king's reform follows her answer.
