About

Founder of the Persian Empire whom Isaiah had named, by name, as the Lord's 'anointed' more than a century before his birth. In his first year he issued the decree releasing the Jewish exiles to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple — the turning point that ended the Babylonian captivity. Daniel served and prospered into his reign.
