Daniel
Name meaning

"servant of Nebo" · Babylonian

His Hebrew name was Azariah, "the LORD helps" (Daniel 1:7).

About

One of Daniel's three companions (Hebrew name Azariah), carried into Babylonian exile. Standing with Shadrach and Meshach, he refused to bow to the golden image and was thrown into the furnace heated seven times hotter, from which he walked out untouched — not even smelling of smoke — a sign that turned the king to praise their God.
